Studio Web and Windows

Prepare a computer live in the browser or transmit from the integrated Windows application.

Choose your workflow

Studio WebStudio for Windows
Use the portal to prepare the title, cover and game, then connect a compatible external WHIP encoder such as an appropriate OBS setup.Prepare the live and transmit within the installed application using its built-in scene, source and audio controls.
The external encoder handles your composition and capture.Monitor/window capture, text sources, layering and audio are managed in Studio.
Publishing connection setup is in the private buyer manual. The application connects to your Astra platform automatically; it is not a general YouTube/Facebook encoder.

Sign in before opening the workspace

Windows Studio starts with the welcome/sign-in experience. Browser authorization checks the account’s current Studio eligibility. An account without permission receives the appropriate explanation; it does not receive an active broadcasting workspace.

After successful authorization, return to Windows Studio. Agency owners are excluded from Studio; ordinary applicants may need final platform approval. The same effective admission rules apply to Studio Web.

Prepare scenes and sources

  1. Create or select a scene for your broadcast.
  2. Add the monitor or specific application/window you intend to show. Check that the saved capture source is available.
  3. Add text and other supported sources. Arrange the source order so the intended overlay is in front.
  4. Select the available audio inputs and outputs and check the preview before starting.
  5. Set the live information, start, and watch from a separate client to check what viewers actually receive.

During and after the live

The Studio workspace keeps preparation, transmission status and audience activity together. A viewer on the ordinary mobile/web app sees the live as a spectator; Studio remains responsible for publishing controls.

End the live from Studio when finished. A saved scene is preparation data, not an active transmission. If a capture disappears after a monitor or window changes, select an available source and verify the preview before resuming.

Compatibility and delivery

The supplied desktop target is Windows. This guide does not promise a macOS or Linux Studio build. Packaging and Microsoft build-tool setup are documented in the buyer’s Windows chapter. Media quality depends on the source, machine, network and configured provider.

Server addresses, publishing credentials and private connection procedures are available in the buyer integration documentation.

Media provider and Windows build tools

This release’s Studio Web and Windows broadcasting require Astra selected as the live provider. Merely running the own-media service while another provider is selected does not enable Studio publishing.

Windows Studio is an Electron application, not a Flutter Windows build. Its unchanged package uses a prebuilt Electron runtime and has no production native Node add-ons to compile. Visual Studio, MSVC and Python are therefore not mandatory for normal packaging. A customization that adds native C++ modules may require Microsoft Build Tools, the Desktop development with C++ workload, an appropriate Windows SDK and Python. The buyer chapter distinguishes those cases.
